The Struggle: Photography

Image
I suck at taking photos. I know it sounds so bad but I somehow can't seem to take a decent photo of most things and I guess I should be worried if I'm going to take this blog thing up another level. I'm working on improving my page and that includes amping my photography skills. Lawrence has been teaching me the basics and I'm in the process of getting the hang of it. He let me borrow his Canon 70 D but I'm starting off with my iPhone. ha! iPhone photography and it's still posts a challenge for me. I'm slow as a sloth when it comes to this. Let me show you some of the pictures I have taken recently. All except the first one are raw photos. In my opinion, these are way better than the ones I took before. ꈍ .̮ ꈍ  B & W Lawrence :) Ramen house The micro mini puppy Tootsie, my dog Bartholomew Moriter      These aren't the best, I know but I'm getting there! Any tips on how I can improve?:) Than...

My New Favorite: Black Beauty Conditioner

Image
Rebonding and coloring caused major-major damage to my locks and the struggle is.damn.real. I bought 10 packs of Black Beauty conditioner last week! Their Hot Oil treatment did my hair wonders but at PhP 17.50 per sachet, it's a bit pricey for daily use so I only have it once a week. I've been using the conditioner for three days now and it sure did help with my hair's brittle ends. Not only that, it also minimized the frizziness and dryness AND gave my hair volume. It doesn't leave any sticky, oily residue after washing! At PhP 10.50 (10 ml), it's safe to say that this is worth it. It costs a bit more than other brands but hey, your hair is your crowning glory. You gotta' give it some love! photo by: beautymnl P.S You might be wondering why I buy in packs rather than in bottles. Well, it's because of the budget.budget.budget!  However, I'm thinking of buying a big bottle now to lessen environmental damage. LOL And oh, you can purchase...

What Is This "Milk Kefir?"

Image
What is milk kefir?      If this' the first time you've heard about such thing. Let me give you a quick intro about it. Milk kefir is a probiotic that is made by fermening milk with kefir grains or with powdered kefir starter culture. It is healthier than yogurt because it contains more vitamins and has a lesser sugar content. It's easy to milk kefir at home! All you need is the starter or the grains, which, I have to say, is a little hard to find. Once you do though, you'll be keeping them for good if you take care of the grains! I'd like to think of it as having a new "micro sized" pet. Grains give out more probiotics than the powedered starter. The starter can only last so long and it eventually cannot ferment anymore. Powedered culture starters are easier to find (check Healthy Options).  ʘ‿ʘ Homemade milk kefir       How is it made?      I'm more accustomed to using grains than starters. Fer...

Miracle in a Bottle: Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO)

Image
You know when your hair needs rescue ASAP when the hair ends start splitting, when baby hair sprouts here and there and when breakage is just one brush away!      Hey everyone! Here's a super cheap and easy way to revive dying aka color  treated, rebonded, relaxed and whatchamacallit hair! Ever heard of VCO? In my country, we use various natural ways of treating hair like mayo hair mask, egg hair mask and even oatmeal hair mask! I ditched the mayo, egg and oatmeal because they sound too messy and time consuming to do.      VCO (cold pressed Virgin Coconut Oil), according to bio-integrative center, is the healthiest, most versatile dietary and topical oil in the world. It increases metabolism, helps lose weight, boosts energy levels, reduces the risk of heart disease, has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, improves Crohn's, IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), and other digestive disorders and rejuvenates skin, con...

Hey everyone! Happy new year once again! Now as all of you know, I've set some new goals this year for myself and one of the many on my list is to *ta da da da!* t ake care of my skin and hair  more  since... I'm not getting any younger. ಥ_ಥ      Last year, I only stuck with my usual 5-minute regimen ( for 15 years! ) of applying toner to my face (and neck) and then topping off with a moisturizer before getting some snooze. And that's that! This year though, I'm  going to take it up a notch. My manita surprised me with an iWhite peel off face mask during our 2015 kris kringle and I only got to use it last week! That's when all this skin care and hair care madness started. Enough about that... I'll tell you all about my skin care adventures in my future posts.  (>y<)      It's 2016! To kick start this exciting January, I've decided to change my hair color. It's been ages since I did and it's about ti...
