Oxford Brewing Co.: Snug and Chic
23:30:00
Weekends are very much awaited especially if one has had a high pressure and rough week. The busy-week aftermath usually compels me to just sit back and take a few moments to breathe! In this case, for as long as I wish. Saturdays and Sundays mean no dirty, ink-stained fingers, no lessons to prepare, no waking up early and no rushing to finish my jolting cup of joe. In a nutshell, the weekend defines relaxation.
Resting at the corner of E-Park Building in Talamban is Oxford Brewing Co. This secluded and nonchalant cafe is the perfect place to do away from the tumult of the city. It is far enough from the main road to give you that coffee ambience feel but not very distant so you can easily spot it the moment you pass by.
Upon entering this mini hideaway, I was amazed with the homey atmosphere it offered its customers. The interiors were mostly in hues of gray, green, brown and white...monochrome. There was an enormous image of the well-known Big Ben and London style telephone booth on its wall. Thus, the name Oxford. It wasn't too big of a cafe and the tables and chairs were quite limited. However, it gave me such a sound and feel-good vibe. They serve hot coffee, iced coffee, frappes, some alcoholic beverages, tea, and smoothies among many others. You've got a variety to choose from. Oh yes, the English never forget their tea!
I ordered hot mocha and Lawrence had his all time favorite---Cafe Americano. Black and Bold. Just the way he has always liked his coffee. The servings were good for the price..okay in fact. And by okay I mean just enough to satisfy our thirst for caffeine! They served our coffee with the cutest cup ever and mine even had this floral -chocolate design swirled on the froth. Nice! The staff were friendly, too.
